A browser-based Omegle alternative for one-to-one video chat
Omegle is no longer available, but meeting someone new face to face can still be simple. Loopcam pairs you with one random person at a time for a live video conversation in your web browser. Here is what to expect before you start.
Loopcam is only for adults aged 18 or older.
How a chat starts
Select Start Chatting. Loopcam asks you to sign in only when your session requires it. A registered account is the normal way to use Loopcam; when an administrator has enabled guest access, you can enter without a visible sign-in step.
Choose your gender if you have not saved it yet, and allow camera and microphone access when your browser asks. These two prompts can appear in either order.
Press Start Chat in the chat controls when you are ready. Matchmaking begins only after you press it.
Loopcam connects you with one random person. It first looks for someone who uses the same language and widens the search if nobody is found after a short wait.
Free core chat, optional Premium filters
One-to-one video chat and the basic safety tools are free, and no card is needed. Free matches follow your app language and are not filtered by gender or country.
Premium is an optional subscription that adds gender, language, and country filters to your live sessions. You can cancel it from your profile at any time.
Your browser and camera permissions
There is nothing to install: Loopcam runs in a modern web browser. Your browser asks for camera and microphone access only when you start a chat, not while you read pages like this one, and you can change those permissions in your browser settings. Not every device or browser is guaranteed to work.
How the video connection works
Loopcam prefers a direct peer-to-peer connection between you and the other person when your networks allow it. If a direct connection fails, a TURN relay may carry the video when one is configured. Neither a direct connection nor a relay is guaranteed, so a connection can sometimes fail.
Leave or switch conversations
You are never stuck in a conversation. Skip to another random person or end the chat completely whenever you want. Each account can be in only one chat at a time.
Safety, rules, and reporting
Loopcam is a moderated conversation platform, not a dating or adult site. Nudity and sexual content, harassment, hate, threats, scams, spam, and anything that puts minors at risk are not allowed.
If someone breaks the rules, use the report button in the chat. Recent matches can still be reported for a limited time after the chat ends. The reported person is not told who reported them, and reports from several people can lead to an automatic chat suspension.
Protect yourself too: do not share your address, financial details, or documents, and leave any chat that makes you uncomfortable.
